More and more our wilderness is threatened by human interference. For years mining companies have been trying to gain permits to extract ore from the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA) in Northern Minnesota by using a process known as Copper Sulfide Mining. This is an extremely toxic way of extracting metals, and the results could devastate, not only the BWCA, but also the entirety of Minnesota and down the Mississippi. This piece looks to place the viewer in the BWCA, be immersed by nature and listen to the woods. With words from the great environmentalist and champion of the BWCA, Sigurd Olson, think of your place in this world and the stories that these places tell.
